This week has been named National Infertility Awareness Week (NIAW) by RESOLVE, the National Infertility Association. Infertility is defined as the inability to either conceive or carry a pregnancy to term after 12 months of trying to have a baby. The Centers for Disease Control & Prevention statistics on infertility in the US report that 6.7 million women aged 15-44 have impaired fecundity. Nearly 7.4 million have ever used infertility services. Check out the website of RESOLVE for more information and for activities such as walks and blogging challenges! Whether you yourself are concerned about infertility or you have a friend or family member you’d like to better support – be educated, be involved.
