Dr. DeMone Running 2016 Boston Marathon in Support of water.org

WHCM’s very own Dr. Jaimee DeMone has been training to run the Boston Marathon on April 18th.  She is grateful and excited to fulfill this longstanding dream – with the help of an amazing winter and a wonderful running partner/neighbor.

Dr. DeMone began a ‘bucket list’ two years ago which has led to many wonderful and rewarding experiences, friends and revelations.  She is humbled to have the opportunity to combine two of her goals by running the marathon in support of a charity near and dear to her heart, Water.org.

Over 660 million people live in this world without access to safe water and 2.4 billion live without access to sanitation.  Dr. DeMone first encountered the staggering severity of this water crisis while traveling in India many years ago, but learned a great deal more about the issue in the last two years through water.org.  The impact of the crisis on women and children is especially devastating and greatly impassions her.  The scope of the issue is enormous, but there is hope.  Water.org was co-founded by Matt Damon and Gary White and has been providing sustainable and progressive solutions for more than 25 years. Jaimee is greatly inspired by the work Water.org is doing as well their success.
